New stories create new possibilities

Peer Review

Peer review is a process used in scholarly research to help ensure that published research provides accurate, verifiable, and valuable contributions to a field of study. It involves assessing the work for its significance, originality, and clarity, as well as checking that the research methods were used properly and that the conclusions are supported by the data. The peer review process is completed by others who are experts in the same field.

While I welcome a scholarly review of my work, I am most interested in being reviewed by peers who have also experienced the phenomenon I have studied. Specifically, living with persistent pain for a year or more and then finding oneself in a place where you are “doing better” or “living well with pain.”

Are you interested in connecting with me about this work?

My research is not presented as a definitive understanding of the experience of personal recovery from persistent pain, and my research methodology suggests that a definitive understanding of experience is not possible. We are always in the midst of reformulating our understanding. I would love to connect with peers who are interested in collectively expanding our understanding of this experience.

We live in a time, however, where people can be quick to share thoughts and opinions online and lose track of the human being on the receiving end. Please don’t lose track of me.

If you are inspired to reach out to me, please consider the “THINK before you write” acronym in the image above. I welcome your kind and thoughtful messages by email.
